Welcome, I’m Stephanie.
I'm a mother of two, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a former attorney… and a widow who has intimately known the ache of profound loss.
It was through my own journey of grief that I felt called to follow my heart, it was then that I realized that my career has come full circle, evolving as my life unfolded.
Today I support and guide widows as they rebuild their lives and educate professionals who serve people during life's most vulnerable seasons.
That writing process changed me.
It clarified my calling: to support and guide widows as they rebuild their lives and to educate professionals who serve people during life’s most vulnerable seasons. I became a certified grief, loss, and life transition coach and uncovered a startling reality in the financial industry: nearly 70% of widows leave their financial advisor within the first year, not because of performance, but because they don’t feel heard, understood, or supported. This disconnect represents not only a human cost but a trillion-dollar risk across professional industries.
When Jeff was diagnosed with terminal cancer, my life changed forever. After years of caregiving, advocacy, and walking him through unimaginable medical decisions, I became a widow. In the aftermath of his death, I wrote a memoir chronicling our journey through love, loss, terminal diagnosis, cancer caregiving, and assisting him in dying with dignity to end his suffering.
My career has come full circle—evolving as my life unfolded.
I began my professional journey after graduating from UCLA, attending law school, and becoming an attorney. For many years, I practiced as a trial lawyer, conducting hundreds of depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. I learned how decisions are made under pressure, how people behave in crisis, and how trust is either built or irreparably broken in high-stakes moments.
When I became a mother, my priorities shifted. I chose to step away from full-time legal practice to be a stay-at-home mom, placing quality time with my children at the center of my life. Yet I never left the profession entirely. While my children slept, I taught law as a professor, allowing me to remain intellectually and professionally engaged while honoring my role as a present parent.
After a 21-year marriage ended in divorce, I returned once again to the legal field as in-house defense counsel, supporting my family as a single mother. Though I was successful as a trial attorney, I came to recognize that entrepreneurship, not litigation, was my true passion. I ultimately left the practice of law to build and own a business with my new love, Jeff.
Why I Chose This Path...
Today, I serve as a Compassionate Client Care Educator, training financial, medical, and legal professionals to walk with clients and patients through what they never planned for. I draw from my legal training, trial and teaching experience, grief coaching expertise, and lived reality as a caregiver and widow to show professionals how empathy builds trust, trust creates loyalty, and loyalty drives retention and referrals.
Human connection is the greatest differentiator any professional or organization has, and when you learn how to lead with it, you don’t just serve people better. You create clients for life.
